When do I have to send an invoice?
For business customers there is a deadline: the fifteenth day of the month after the month in which you supplied.
If you supply another business, you generally have to issue an invoice, and you have to do it on time. The EU deadline is the 15th day of the month following the one in which you delivered the goods or performed the service.
An example. You finish a job on 8 March. The month after that is April. Your invoice has to be out by 15 April at the latest.
That date is fixed EU-wide for supplies to another member state and for supplies where the customer accounts for the VAT. For a purely domestic sale your own country may set a different deadline, so check yours if you cut it fine.
Selling to a private individual usually needs no invoice at all. There are exceptions — the sale of a new means of transport to another EU country is one — and some countries ask for one anyway. Do not leave it too long either way: the sooner the invoice goes out, the sooner you are paid.
Your invoice is ready in the editor in a couple of minutes, so you are well inside the deadline. No account needed to look around.
